Thanks! I had just about given up on this, and actually got to the point where I decided that it would be worth spending the time to install .55 to upgrade my current .52 installation tonight...
Well -- NOT a fun time!
I installed .55 to my PC, started editing the ALX's, deleting vendor.xml, etc. Started to load up the .55 OS into my Curve, and wound up with the dreaded 523 error. After wrestling with JL_CMDER and javaloader for about 2 hours, I finally managed to wipe my Curve and reset to factory settings, at which point I was finally able to get the Application loader to see the new OS and load it. Well ... we all know how long THAT can take...and it did. Unfortunately, I started all this around midnight, and it's now 2:30am...
.55 is installed, and ALL my personally installed apps are gone. Unfortunately, they're not saved as part of a standard BB backup. So I'll have to downloaded, install, reconfigure, etc.
THEN...I'll have to install the new .69 you've found for us! I know how I'll be spending a few hours tomorrow morning...
Ah well. I'll consider the .55 upgrade debacle my refresher course in OS installation, getting me properly prepared to do tomorrow's .69 upgrade.
Thanks again!

After my last post, I got a few hours sleep, and went back to work installing .69 on my 8300. Worked perfectly first try. Lots of free memory, and it seems noticeably faster than either .52 or .55 -- navigate from screen to screen, scrolling across the icons, etc, all faster.
Thanks again!
