Desktop Manager/OS

Hey guys,
My question has to do with OS files that are stored on a pc.
I read somewhere that you should not have several OS files stored on your pc--is this true?
The problem Im running into is I have an 8300, my wife has an 8310, friends and son have 81XXs.
Will the DM be device specific when its time to upgrade/manipulate?

Thanks in advance...

It should be. I have 3 devices and use all of them on the same computer. What I did was created different profiles on my computer to adapt for the phones. My wife has an 8100 and uses her profile(well I do) to load the OS's onto it. I use my profile to load OS's onto my phone and created a different profile(Blackberry Central) for my third device. I also have about 6 different OS versions stored to my computer for EACH device. I hope this helps with your question.
